This little brass telescope is about 4.5" long when fully extended. It is great for a quick magnification aid. The lens is about 1.5" wide.
The 17th century brought with it the first known functional telescopes which were created in the Netherlands. Giovanni Demisiani, the Greek mathematician first popularized the word telescope in 1611.
