To a handle of wood, a chain is fastened. The other end of the chain holds a hollow metal sphere with deadly spikes! By swooping this primitive, yet effective, weapon through the air, the soldier could administer savage wounds to his enemy.
These battle flail models carry several 1.25" (approximately) pikes on a massive 9" (approximately) metal sphere. It has a chain about 24" long on a handle that is made to offer an excellent grip, but it still cannot be stressed enough that one needs to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when handling this ancient weapon!
