This reproduction 10" antique finish surveying theodolite is similar to those used in the mapping of the National Parks of America. This beautiful display piece measures approximately 10" tall when the telescope is parallel to the ground.
Surveyors would align the compass and use this item to measure both vertical and horizontal angles for extremely accurate measurements while developing their topographical maps.
