This 15" fully functioning aluminum porthole window is handcrafted and features an antique finish. Authentic looking rivets surround the centered window. Each piece is unique and may have surface irregularities and variations of finish color, making each porthole unique. The approximately 15" diameter porthole surrounds an approximately 10 " beveled glass window.
Hung on the wall or used as a picture frame, this porthole window is a great accent decoration piece. A contractor even installed a few as functioning windows in a restaurant.
The original use of a porthole was as a small window to provide entry for light and air into the hull of a ship. This greatly helped dispel the dark, dank atmosphere in below deck quarters.
