Performing tasks such as drawing a line on a plane table in the direction of a distant object or allowing measurement of the angle to this object from a specific reference point using line of sight are made possible by an alidade.
This alidade is created from brass and sits on a brass base. The height of this piece is approximately 12" when expanded and about 8" when retracted. It is approximately 5.5" wide. This alidade is made as a display piece only. It will not function as a measurement tool.
