This convex lens is generally found inside of a frame and attached to a handle. Magnifying glasses feature a lens that is convex and will therefore magnify the image of whatever object it is held in front of.
This is a new brass version measuring about 2.5" which can easily aid you in reading maps and atlases as well as seeing other small details that you don't want to miss. It measures about 3" wide and the entire magnifying glass is about 2.5" tall. It will make images clearer for you to see and read.
